So I went to the Celtics game last night and boy what an embarrassment. It is like a glorified HS game or playground ball-very little defense, very sloppy, a lot of turnovers.
The first conversation of the night revolved around how great it is to be able to buy seats for $21.50 and sit in $135 seats. Then someone pointed out that we should enjoy it while we can as next year, the place will be totally sold out every night.
The Celtics dancers which we nickname the Cel ticketts and the dance they do is the Shamrock Shake. The did the same dance twice to two different songs, changed costumes 4-5 times and basically had no place at a basketball game-if that was what was really going on. The highlight of the night was rooting for 3 Celtics to get double doubles. Al Jefferson came 1 rebound short, but did not play the fourth quarter, because it was such a blowout. Atlanta the opponent is so bad, I can’t believe they have a better record than us. Paul Pierce is fat and can barely dunk. Rondo is Portnoy good for 93 feet and can’t go to his left. Scalabrine sucks. Allen Ray and Leon Poe were fun to watch. And we did not get to see the Candiman.
At the end of the 2nd and 3rd quarters the Celtics hit buzzer beating 3 pointers-Rondo and Green. Rondo’s was from half court.
We settled in for the fourth quarter to see how Doc would blow the 26 point lead. He put the worst possible team out there and they only let the Hawks get within 15.
The conversation shifted to how many current Celtics would crack the 86 team. It was either Pierce or Pierce and Jefferson. But I contend Pierce wouldn’t crack the top six.
Not that I want the Celtics to do anything about it, but it is really sad to go to a pro sporting event where you can sit in really good seats and the parking cost more than your ticket.
Karyn says Pierce is better than Sichting, but no way would he crack the top 6.
Hmm.. you wouldn’t want to screw w/ the chemistry, just talent-wise, you’ve got to take Pierce over Ainge
